dont do it this thing if you want happy

More and more people seem increasingly difficult to find happiness, whether because of family matters or work.

New research from Carnegie Mellon University also revealed that the stress levels of Americans continues to increase for 25 years, even 1 in 10 people reported taking antidepressant drugs.

Usually the stress and unhappiness come from yourself so that an expert said that to overcome them, everyone should be aware of what has been done to bring the stress and feelings of the unhappy.

For more details, refer to the 10 common mistakes that you usually do to ruin the mood and lead to unhappiness and what to do about it as reported from CBSNews, Wednesday (08/08/2012) below.

1. Pondering the past
Each person must have experienced trauma in his life. One way to deal with the trauma that could distinguish the person a way to get happiness.

A study published in the journal Psychological Science reveals that it is always thinking about the past is the principal cause of clinical depression.

This is because many people suffer from what is called selective memory bias (selective memory bias). The study, led by expert Dr cognitive neuroscience. Elizabeth Kensinger of Boston College revealed that people tend to remember more negative events in the past rather than positive events.

The more bad things in mind then they will be more likely to be too stressed about it and exaggerate its impact on life in the present.

The past can not be changed but think about giving a feeling of helplessness and a strong bitterness.

2. The pursuit of fame or money
Many scientific studies show that the wealth, luxury goods and fame have little effect on happiness.

Survey of a number of American billionaires and published in the journal Social Indicators Research found that as a community, they are not happier than the average middle class American.

Only a handful of American billionaires who claim to be happy but no one said that the cause is money. So what makes them happy? The average claim overflowing with warmth and love from their partner and find her destiny.

Another study from the University of Rochester showed that people who pursue fame as the main purpose of his life would not be happy than those who have higher ambitions.

3. Worrying about the future
Reflect on the past can indeed cause depression, but this is the same as worrying about the future.

Research conducted by psychologist Suzanne Segerstrom of the University of Kentucky found that the more time spent one to think about 'what if something bad happened' then they are more likely to imagine what would actually happen. This obviously raises emotions pointless and a waste of time.

This will not only cause anxiety, but research published in the journal Circulation has also indicated the risk of coronary heart disease by shortening the survival rate.

4. Obsessed with physical appearance
At a later time, the beauty will fade, so if you're obsessed with it then you go missing with her happiness.

A study in the Journal of Positive Psychology suggests that a model at the height of her beauty though often feel happier and have more psychological problems than his colleagues.

Another study in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry that looked at beusia children 9-12 years found that those who believe beauty is a source of happiness is more likely to develop depression than people who do not think so.

Beauty makes people become dependent on the evaluation of others. This creates anxiety because of the hope of happiness will be provided by acquaintances and strangers that opinion or way of thinking can not be controlled by people who are crazy about physical appearance.

5. Perform automatically a bad habit
Habits appear after repeatedly until the subconscious can do without planning. The problem is, many people with bad habits are usually done automatically without being aware that such habits away from the achievement of goals and happiness.

Research published in the journal Scientific American revealed that the number of 'failure to obtain happiness' that just comes from bad habits, rather than the inability to achieve happiness itself.

The good news is, once you realize that some of the habits sabotage your happiness, a study conducted by Phillippa Lally and published in European Journal of Social Psychology shows that you can change in just 18 days.

6. Thinking in black and white
People tend to think distorted so as to make a number of things seem worse than the reality.

Think that every problem or there are only two kinds of good or bad, or use words like never (never), no (nothing), everything (everything) or always (always) indicates that you are a thinker polarized.

The study published by psychologists Nalini Ambady from Stanford University have shown that the polarized thinking that creates at least two serious problems:

First, this condition ensures the reality has been distorted so as to encourage the emergence of bad decisions and a critical error in judgment. Secondly, too many stray thoughts magnify negative emotions such as depression, anxiety, anger and fear.

Psychologist Martin Seligman of the University of Pennsylvania has published extensive research showing that people who are optimistic are also more successful in a career, earn more money, have more friends and have a romantic relationship that is more durable and better than a pessimist.

Critically, a new study in the journal Psychological Science also suggests that positive people have an accurate perception of reality and deal with stress better than a negative person.

When bad things happen to people who are optimistic, they will be more robust, faster to get up and tend to win the difficulties it faces than a pessimist.

8. Dwell in a negative environment
Whether it's movies, music, video games or place of residence, physical environment can affect a person's happiness more than they realize.

Research shows that every human being is susceptible influenced by the environment itself. The lack of natural light coming into the house, too much clutter or poor imaging can lead to anxiety, depression and insomnia.

The study, published in the Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media and Psychological Science suggests that consumption of too much negative media like watching a movie or a sad story, play violent video games, listening to angry or sad music and read books that it can interfere hurt the mood, emotion and the prospect of your life.

9. Hanging out with the wrong people
Almost the same as the physical environment, family or friends who are negative, unhappy or unstable characteristics to transmit it to you.

Several studies conducted social scientist and physician Nicholas Christakis of Harvard suggests that the mind and emotions, whether positive or negative is very contagious and can be transmitted to each other in just 1 second.

Another finding states, the people who maintain a healthy relationship will be happier than those who do not. Strong social network is the reason why the people of Bangladesh, one of the world's poorest countries, the highest reported levels of happiness than those in developed countries.
